The Problem
Too many agents don't actually have the contract in place to offer you the position. Many are just trying to bolster their database or find out what rate you expect. As a contractor this is very frustrating. And if you finally do submit your CV to them, you then get either no feedback or very little feedback. You also get the same standard excuses of why things didn't work. I'd rather have the agent talk to me and tell me the truth because we know the market, the competition and what we are worth!
The Solution
When approached by Recruit 121 I had no reason to think they were any better than all the other agents I have worked with over the past 8 years contracting. However what I did find is that they were honest about the actual role and also what their mark up is. Believe it or not contractors talk amongst themselves and we ALWAYS find out what mark up you put on us. Tracy, my main point of contact at Recruit 121, constantly kept me in the loop with any progress made with the Client.
The Result
Despite a very frustrating time awaiting feedback from the client, Recruit 121(Tracy), was very professional and had a dogmatic approach regarding getting feedback on my CV and 3 interviews with the client.
Our Candidate Says
Recruit 121 listen to the contractor! I moved from a weekly paid contract to a monthly paid contract. Recruit 121 accommodated in paying me the first invoice prior to the Xmas break. Expenses were paid in a timely manner with good communication from Recruit 121.
