Tri-State Hospital Supply Corporation

The Problem

Tri-State Hospital Supply Corporation is an international business comprising over twenty-five distribution centers in the US, four production facilities in the US and one production facility in Mexico. They employ over 750 people focused on high levels of customer service, high quality and improving the cost outcome of procedures in the health care industry. With over 65,000 products, many specifically made for one customer, Tri-State has many opportunities for growth through customer-specific solutions and production and supply chain optimization. Tri-State’s focus on the unique needs of individual customers and improving the cost outcomes of procedures meant they needed to be able rapidly adapt to the demands this placed on their production and supply chain. The legacy system was beginning to impose challenges in meeting the evolving nature of the business. Tri-State started the Catalyst project to initiate both systematic and process change throughout the organization to improve their ability to meet the challenges in providing unique customer solutions with high quality and positive cost outcomes. They needed highly skilled, senior SAP professionals to work with their team to implement optimized business processes and to build a core internal SAP competency for their technology staff.

The Solution

Recruit 121 was invited to submit candidates for the senior positions on the project. Upon receipt of requirements, the Recruit 121 team submitted the first round of candidates within 24 hours. I was impressed with both their response time and quality of candidates submitted. The placement team at Tri-State began conducting interviews. Initially, Recruit 121 filled two thirds of the requirements presented to them. Tri-State had made an offer on a Production Planning Consultant that decided to remove himself from contention. I contacted Recruit 121 and informed them of the situation. They were able to get me multiple profiles by the afternoon. Interviews were conducted and an offer was made and accepted later that evening. Recruit 121 outperforms its competition in the SAP marketplace. Based on the performance of the Recruit 121 team, they have been deemed sole supplier to our project ever since. Within weeks of deployment of their resources on our project, the account manager and Senior VP of Sales flew to Michigan from California to visit their consultants and learn more about the project. They were very interested in fully understanding our business model to assist in future search streams for additional resources that we needed along the way. I was also very impressed that Recruit 121 takes so much time and care to ensure the solid business relationship with their client as well as with all of their contractors.

The Result

After developing a thorough understanding of the project initiatives and requirements, Recruit 121 staffed 5 of the 6 lead positions on the project. Since the initial placements, the relationship has continued to develop as the project has matured. Recruit 121 has since placed 2 more lead professionals on the project and has become the preferred SAP staffing partner at Tri-State.
