ODS Business Services

The Problem

ODS Business Services is a subsidiary of the ODS Group. ODS has the largest optical disc manufacturing capacity in Europe. In January 2007, ODS Optical Disc Service had acquired Deluxe Media Services DVD manufacturing and distribution business. ODS transferred the distribution of it’s customers in the UK and Ireland into a new distribution facility allowing ODS to offer DVD supply chain services from authoring and manufacturing to distribution and cash collection throughout 16 countries in Europe with one centralised point of contact. A critical aspect of this pan European solution will be the utilization of a unified SAP distribution platform, which has been successfully developed over recent years and which is capable of providing the support European DVD distributors need to streamline their sales and marketing activities and to adapt to the rapid changes in the marketplace. To support the internal growth and centralisation of the Supply Chain Services, part of ODS's strategy was to centralise SAP Systems and build a Permanent IT Support Team. In addition to the 16 SAP staff of Deluxe Media Services that were retained, a further 27 employees were required up until quarter 4 of 2008 consisting of both contract and permanent staff to structure the UK based SAP team. The aim of this team is to equip ODS for rapid but effective implementations and ensure continuous development of SAP services offered to their clients.

The Solution

Recruit 121 were approached to join the appointed Preferred Suppliers at the initial stages of the recruitment drive having effectively managed candidate and client relationships at all levels within the former Deluxe Media Business as well as ODS European Divisions. Recruit 121 mobilised a Specialist Permanent Account Management team comprising of a dedicated Client Relationship Manager and a specialist Candidate Resourcing Team to support ODS’ initial Internal SAP growth plans. An Interim strategy was formalised replicating and complimenting the Permanent solution to support the freelance demand as an integral part of the overall SAP staffing plan.

The Result

Since being recruited as a Preferred Supplier Partner, Recruit 121 has effectively met the demands of ODS’s staffing plans. In the now completed first wave of recruitment, Recruit 121 has established itself as the leading supplier of SAP professionals. This has been achieved through gaining a deep understanding of the needs of ODS as a business and their SAP programme.
